Oh dear, oh dear, its another bleak morning for poor Gary Newman who I know was tempted by this to help diversify his portfolio away from his beloved Horizonte Minerals (HZM). I am recording from somewhere new in Greece where there were awful fires last year. I discuss the arsonists and the BBC and its fake news on global warming. Then it is onto Optibiotix (OPTI), SkinBiotherapeutics (SBTX) and the dimwits who think I really did sack Gary Newman but, more importantly, today’s statement from Optibiotix. Tom Winnifrith Bearcast, after sacking Gary Newman I must fire Darren, this is a monstrous lapse of judgement

Audioboom Piss Poor Interims: Gary Newman should have listened to the boss part 77

Oh dear. How is stale bull Gary Newman faring this morning? Audioboom (BOOM) about which I warned the complete-angler has served up half calendar year numbers which are, at every level, piss poor and the shares have slumped to just 180p. Please, young Gary, don’t go bottom fishing, for there is worse to come!

Are Canadian Overseas Petroleum shareholders the thickest morons going? Now for yesterday's defamation

Canadian Overseas shareholder wants to cremate Tom Winnifrith and Gary Newman then Guillotine us both

I shall leave you to ponder how one chops the head off ashes but one suspects that this shareholder in Canadian Overseas Petroleum (COPL) is not the brightest spark as he wishes death on myself and Gary on the LSE Bulletin Boards. Of course if he’d sold and gone short at 25p as I advised he would, with the shares at 2.5p and set to fall to zero be happier and richer. But he knew better than a trained oil analyst and thinks he will get rich again if Gary and me are killed. Whatever…

Dire warning from Audioboom, poor Gary Newman: he should have trusted his site Editor

It’s ouzo on cornflakes this morning for the Sheriff of AIM as Audioboom (BOOM) has served up another dire, and, I suggest, misleading lack of profits warning. So Gary, still, reckons Audioboom is a growth stock? Q1 update & I’ve got a bridge to sell Mr. Newman

I start by referring you to the smelliest nest of vipers bearcast of September 2020. Three of the four interconnected players (Dev Clever, Asimilar, All Active Asset Management) have in various ways collapsed. The fourth is Audioboom (BOOM). My esteemed colleague Gary Newman and other supporters of this company claim that it is a “growth story” and should be valued accordingly. Today’s dismal Q1 update suggests otherwise. Calm Down Gary Newman: Audioboom is still a sell

Mode Global and another promoter who tweet trolled goes silent: Jonathan Rowland

Jonathan Rowland the son of the colourful “Spotty”, and the founder and boss of crypto-shite play Mode Global Holdings (MODE) has been deleting some tweets of late, notably those where he trolled Gary Newman for suggesting that shares in his promote, masquerading as a company, were grossly overvalued. Over the past year the shares have collapsed by 91% and now trade at just 3.2p. In light of that, perhaps investors might wish to review some of Rowland’s tweets he forgot to delete, as we have now saved them for posterity. Union Jack Oil – spot the difference competition

A big shout out to Mark McDowell who pledged £666 yesterday (clearly a reference to Brokerman Dan). But 97% of Bearcast listeners are yet to chip in, I am sure you can all spare a tenner so please donate NOW HERE. To those who have donated already, thank you.

Arian Silver, Pump, Dump, Feed the Board, Pump, Dump, Rinse & Repeat

Our very own Gary Newman nailed this spot on at the weekend flagging up that an almighty pump in Arian Silver (AGQ) was underway. Our sober, harsh but fair coverage contrasts well with the really sordid rampfest that saw the shares pushed ahead ahead of a placing today raising £600,000 at just 0.5p.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: In (partial) defence of Colin Bird at Xtract Resources

This will not make me popular. If you want to see me going for someone who really deserves it I stick the boot into the war criminal and Brexit denier Tony Blair in a podcast on Tom Winnifrith.com HERE. As to Colin Bird of Xtract Resources (XTR) which we own thanks to the blinding stupidity of Gary Newman & Steve Moore, the lynch mob is out after last week's hugely discounted placing. I am not defending my friend Colin entirely, nor am I tipping the shares, but I think some folks are not giving him credit for some of what he has done to rescue a company that was bust and are not putting his actions in context as I explain in full.

2016 in review: our top 30 articles and Tom's ten most read non financial pieces

As the year draws to a close it is only natural that we look back on the past twelve months. And it has been twelve months of achievement. It is a great achievement in that our writers have continued to write exactly what they want without any editorial interference. So Cynical Bear & Gary Newman have knocked shares I own. So what? We really do support free speech.  And it has been a year when we have "dealt with" more frauds and lies on the AIM casino and the main market than ever before. That really is the USP of ShareProphets.

Tom Winnifrith bearcast: you vote should I sack Gary Newman & Steve Moore on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day

In this podcast I revisit the vexed subject of Xtract Resources (XTR) which begs the question of when exactly I should sack Gary Newman and Steve Moore. Having seen a Christmas Carol last night I am inspired by my hero Scrooge, that is to say before he got all soppy, Guardian reading and pathetic in his old age. I also comment on Management Consulting (MMC) before returning at length to Cloudtag (CTAG). This time I play the ghost of Christmases yet to come with a warning for hapless Nomad Cairn. I also comment on Sula (SULA) with whom I met up yesterday.

Xtract Resources - moves to the worst Nomad in London: It gets worse...

There are two statements out today from Xtract Resources (XTR) and neither can be viewed in any way as good news. We own these shares thanks to Dragons Den choices by Steve Moore & Gary Newman at UK Investor 2016, and today's admissions prompt me to start filling in P45s for both those writers.

UK Investor Show ‘Dragon’s Den’ Picks update - Gary Newman facing P45

At UK Investor Show there were five 'Dragon's Den' sessions where five CEOs each gave a five minute pitch and three Dragons each picked one stock in which FIML invested £1,000 via our most excellent broker J Herbert Esq at European Wealth. And so £15,000 was invested, how has it fared?

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Xtract Resources a non cash shell ahoy? P45s for Steve Moore & Gary Newman

Thanks to Steve Moore and Gary Newman we own shares in Xtract Resources (XTR). Both deserve P45s for that. I discuss this disaster as well as another hole in the ground in Bongo Bongo land which stinks - Armadale Capital (ACP). Then it is onto Newmark Security (NMT) - Graham Neary hang your head in shame for this exercise in nepotistic value destruction - before I look at Gulf Keystone (GKP) and the administration waiting to happen that is Avanti Communications (AVN)

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast - Sound Oil, FastJet to Cloudtag, gravity cant be defied forever

I have met with an unprecedented barrage of hate and harassment from folks in Liverpool as I describe here. Moving on from that I ad my thoughts to those of Gary Newman on Sound Energy (SOU) and Graham Neary on FastJet (FJET) and chip in with a few ideas on Motif Bio (MTFB), African Potash (FRAUD), GLI Finance (GLIF) and Cloudtag (CTAG)

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast The blessed Mel for Dad but Steve Moore & Gary Newman fired!

I had to buy a copy of the Guardian for Dad today and carry it home through the streets from the newsagent. How I am shamed in front of my neighbours. Meanwhile dad is reading books I own by Peter Hitchens, Niall Ferguson and Melanie Phillips and is loving them, as his inner reactionary is exposed. On the markets I look at Servision (SEV), Xtract Energy (XTR) - Steve Moore and Gary Newman you are FIRED! - Gulf Keystone (GKP), Taihua (FRAUD), Oxford Pharma (OXP), Judges Scientific (JDG) and another bad day for disgraced Roger "Ramper" Lawson of ShareSoc, Kennedy Ventures (KENV) and finally the poltroons stock of choice for today, Nyota (NYO).

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast: Brexit Bollocks from Gary Newman and the stench from Strat Aero & Regent Pacific (i.e Plethora)

I start with a discussion on how the sad events in Yorkshire may sway the Brexit vote before turning to Gary Newman's nonsense earlier today about Brexit, house prices and Foxtons (FOXT). Then it is onto a detailed look at Strat Aero (AERO) and also Regent Pacific, the new owner of Plethora (PLE) and in both cases its red flags ahoy big time.

Tom Winnifrith BearCast 8 April - Waz v Metal Tiger as Oakley & I tidy up

If a I yawn a bit it is because the Mrs was away last night so I stayed up late watching a great Dan Snow programme about the vikings. I digress. I start with Gary Newman and Waz Shakoor vs Metal Tiger (MTR). Then it is on to Pathfinder Minerals (PFP), Greatland Gold (GGP) - it looks wrong to me - Bonmarche (BON), Edenville (EDL), Milamber Ventures (MLVP), Strat Aero (AERO) and once again Ascent (AST) where management are now reaping what they sowed. Oh, and we have some exciting news on www.UKInvestorshow - Ho, ho, ho. The Oakley headline is explained in the podcast.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 11 December - I prove I'm an optimist - putting cash in a Greek bank

Yes I have indeed done just that, or I think I have. The olive harvest saga continues and the snow has started on the mountains above the Greek Hovel, pictures later. In this podcast I look at Jabba The Hutt ramping Afriag (AFRI) and warn you what will happen next. Then a comment on LGO Energy (LGO) before heading onto PeerTV (PTV) and - in an unusual manner - I cover ValiRx (VAL). You see Satu I am a man of my word, Halosource (HALO) gets "the treatment" as does Gary Newman for buying into corporate bullshit speak. Then it is onto Photosntar Led (PSL), Fitbug (FITB) and finally InternetQ (INTQ).

PS I see that Evocutis (EVO), a David Lenigas related dog out of cash is off by 10% at 0.09p. Placing ahoy!

PPS: Warning, the pain killers are working brilliantly...extreme bad language alert.

Gary Newman should be locked up in the same asylum as Turney – Don’t Buy Alba Minerals

I am beginning to think that I am surrounded by lunatics. I fear a dawn raid on the ShareProphets editorial team by the men in white coats at any stage. Old Malcolm Stacey believes in the money tree, Zak Mir believes in charting, Ben Turney believes in Gulf Keystone (GKP) but worst of the lot, Gary Newman, has today tipped shares in Alba Minerals (ALBA) at 0.23p to buy. Saints preserve me.

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 11 November - cats, Lenigas & Finnaust: placing ahoy?

Then it is onto explaining who gets to define boring, spitefull and vendetta in terms of my earlier podcast on overvalued junk Uk Oil & Gas (UKOG). Then why Gary Newman is wrong on Plethora (PLE). Then onto Finnaust (FAM), Gulf Marine (GMS), Centaur Media (CAU) and POS Golden Saint Resources (GSR)

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast Special - Fishing Republic, valuation is er....fishy

Thanks to Paul Scott for his help on this one. I know that Gary Newman is a fan but I just do not get Fishing Republic (FISH) at all - the red flags are now highlighted. The Crony Capitalist City parasistes trousered fees of £550,000 ( two years after tax profits) from a £1.5 million fund raise at IPO (with directors pocketing £106,000) but I somehow suspect investors will not propser with this AIM casino chip.

My hot oil shares tip – avoid the sector like the plague

I see that Gary Newman was tipping MX Oil (MXO) here yesterday. I admit that he knows far more about the company than I do. But I just think he is wrong. The problem is not the MX but the oil. This sector should be avoided like the plague.

Tom Winnifrith BearCast - 16 May

Oddly I had quite a lot to say in this podcast. I start on a personal note, feeling a confidence breached. I then move onto the buggers muddle at New World Oil & Gas (NEW) - really the shares must be suspended now until Wednesday. Then onto Insetco (INC) and lessons learned from a debacle we warned about and which the Deputy Sheriff of AIM covers again HERE. Finally onto the "Gary Newman rule" - his suggestion of locking in those taking part in AIM placings. I sympathise but I warn that it would kill off 400 companies on the casino. Beware of what you ask for.

It is that birthday week for Darren & I again and New Year Thoughts

Once again it is that week when Darren Atwater and I both turn one year older. Last Monday the pizza hardman turned 47. I stop being 46 this Monday coming up and as it is the start of the year you naturally think about what you have achieved and what you want to achieve.

We are getting older. Perhaps as importantly our parents are getting pretty old now – Darren’s in Canada, mine in Shipston. As they all head towards eighty you have certain thoughts. I guess both Darren and I are also contemplating that we are closer to retirement age than to the start of our careers. In his quiet way he still has a bit more hunger than I do to achieve and conquer. I think I’m well past that now.

Professionally we can look back two years with some satisfaction. We have

blinkx – I disagree with Gary as it is a sell & my top three stocks to short on AIM

Yesterday my colleague Gary Newman argued HERE that at 66p shares in blinkx (BLNX) were a buy. I respect Gary but disagree with him, this company is not worth £264 million. The shares remain a sell.

I start on the fundamental basis that Ben Edelman accused blinkx of engaging in illegal activities. blinkx blustered and used lawyers to bully. But it has failed to deal with Edelman’s core allegations and has not actually instigated legal proceedings against him. Watch the Edelman UK Investor Show video HERE and see what you think.

Now if Edelman is correct you really have to question the quality of earnings and earnings visibility here – as such I’d put blinkx on a very lousy PE.

blinkx does at least have $126 million cash

Gulfsands Petroleum – Still a sell

Earlier this week my colleague Gary Newman argued HERE that shares in Gulfsands Petroleum (GPX) might be worth a punt on the basis that it could jump if matters in Syria were resolved. Having called this as a sell at 111p HERE and again at 43p on January 10th HERE I disagree. Here’s why.

First up is the cash position. It is dire. I noted on January 10
